On October 6, 2023, Attorney Alfredo Estrada was the keynote speaker at the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana’s Hispanic Heritage Month Program. Attorney Estrada presentation was entitled “The Immigrant Experience: Latino’s In Indiana and Beyond”. Those in attendance included federal judges, magistrates, court staff, and members of the Indiana State Bar Association. Attorney Estrada provided a step by step history of three juvenile clients, referred to as the three mariposa, who traveled from Guatemala to United States. The presentation provided look into the immigration process generally and detailed practical overview of the Special Immigrant Juvenile status process.
